On the sensitivity of the results to the numerical approximation of turbulence convective transport in a k-e turbulence model

A selection of these reports is available in PostScript form at the Faculty's anonymous ftp-Abstract In this paper a TVD scheme is applied to the computation of the turbulent connned co-ow jet in a 2D planar duct. This scheme is formally third-order accurate, free from numerical oscillations while keeping sharp gradients steep, and can be quite easily applied to incompressible turbulent ow computation with the k-" model. Computations with diierent gridsizes and also with diier-ent convection schemes demonstrate that the solution of the k and " equations is very sensitive to the scheme employed to discretize the convection term.
